Attention ALL SENIORS &  8th GRADERS: The cap, gown, and tassel is $34. The deadline is
March 31st .

Teachers: Please check your email some of you have not returned your insurance forms. Lori
says you need to turn them in today by noon.

Picture retakes and sports pictures will be taken on Tuesday January 31st. 

Until they are gone, Yearbooks may be purchased for $15 or 15 Bobcat Bucks. See Dr. Trover in room 21 (mtrover@meridian101.com talk to a Media Team member. 

Seniors and their Parents: FAFSA Night here at Meridian will be on Thursday, January 26th
from 4-6 p.m. Parents will need to schedule an appointment. Please have your parent call to
schedule an appointment with Ms. Regina in the guidance department if you need to complete
your FAFSA.

The Homecoming game is Feb 10th . The homecoming dance is Feb. 11th from 6-8.   Also, if someone is interested in running for Homecoming Class Attendants please see Mrs. Ruiz. If any SENIOR is interested in running for Homecoming King and Queen,  please come see Mrs. Ruiz.

To All Jr High and High School Students: The janitorial staff would like to “Thank ALL
of YOU for a job “Well Done!” during the Lunch Blocks. They have noticed students
showing good behavior, being polite and cleanliness by cleaning up after yourself in the
cafeteria. We appreciate your efforts! Keep up the Good Work!

Attention 6th Grade Girls: There a sign-up sheet for a new program called Global Girls. Any
6th grade girl who is interested in signing up or for more information, please see Ms. Breanna
Wyatt at the Elem.

On Thursday, February 9th we will have a “Celebration of Excellence” sponsored by the
Meridian Basketball team and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America:
recognizing African Americans central and critical role in United States history, present day
achievements and accomplishments. Time: 6-8 p.m. in the Meridian Gym. The attire is Black
and White cost is $25.00. See Mrs. Bartlett or Mr. David Davis for more information
Entertainment:  Live band, Singing, Poetry reading, and more. Dinner will be served
(Choice of Turkey or Chicken/ sides/Dessert)

There is a High School Track and Field Sign-up sheet in the front office any questions.

Attention Students: NO students should be on the stage unless you have permission to do so.

deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 15th .

The Buffalo Soldiers Scholarship is available in the guidance office. The deadline to
apply for this scholarship is Friday, March 17th .

William Fred Hannan Scholarship is available in the guidance office. The deadline to
apply for this Scholarship is March 31st .

SIU Credit Union Scholarship is available in the guidance office. It is a 1,000-dollar
scholarship opportunity. Deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 31, 2023

Township Official of Illinois Scholarship is available in guidance. It is a 2,000 – dollar
scholarship opportunity Deadline to apply for this scholarship is March 1, 2023.

Save the Abandoned babies Foundation Scholarship 1,000 dollars--See guidance if
interested!

PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) Scholarship is available in the guidance
office

Activities:
HS Boys will play Vandalia @ 8:30 in the BIT bus leaves the school @ 5:10 p.m.
HS Girls Basketball will not practice
MS Boys will practice from 3-5pm
