Congratulations to our Seniors!


CONGRATULATIONS!  Our Middle School track team did a wonderful job at the State track meet Saturday. 
Our girls won 5th Place in the 4X2 relay.  Our boys won 6th Place in the 4X2 Relay.

Thank you to all who helped during our First Field Day, May 17th.   We had great weather and a great time!



A “Big” shout out of Congratulations to the High School Scholar Bowl Team. They have qualified and have been invited to the WSIU- Carbondale Scholastic Hi-Q competition in the Fall for the showing on Southern Illinois PBS channel. Great Job Scholars! Job Well Done!

 Congratulations to the Middle School Track team who attended the Southern Illinois Conference meet at Anna this past week. The Boys placed 2nd and the Girls placed 4th in the competition.  Great Job Bobkits!!!!

          Any school club or community business who would like to place an ad in the HS Yearbook. Please see a yearbook staff member or Ms. Regina in Guidance. The prices are as follows: 1/8 of a page just writing 15.00  ¼ of a page  25.00, a half page 50.00 and a full page 100.00.  The deadline to purchase an ad page is May 10th. Please support your yearbook committee. Thank you.   We will be having a school Field Day (picnic) on Friday, May 17th. We will have softball toss - water balloon catch, relays and more. We will also be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers and have all the trimmings.  If you would like to volunteer, please contact the office.

Juniors will be taking the SAT on April 9th.

Freshman will be taking the PSAT on April 10th.

Sophomores will be taking the PSAT on April 11th. 

Congratulations to the Lady Bobkits for winning their Regional on 1/14/19.

The Pulaski-Alexander Soil and Water Conservation District puts out an essay contest every year for Century, Egyptian, and Meridian.  Each school has a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner plus an overall winner. 1st place gets $50.00, 2nd place gets $25.00, 3rd place gets $15.00.  The Horticulture class entered 6 essays and here are our winners:

-1st place: Virginia Crecelius
-2nd place: C. Wyatt Helton
-3rd place: Treston Masters
These three get to attend the annual soil and water conservation meeting on February 21 at Shawnee College where they will get their awards!

     CONGRATULATIONS to Donnell Flowers for exhibiting outstanding leadership qualities of a young successful entrepreneur at the Illinois Extension Center Entrepreneurship camp held over the summer at SCC for 7th 8th, and 9th graders. Donnell was awarded a certificate of Excellence in Young Entrepreneurship. When you see Donnell today show him some Bobcat Pride! We are proud of you!

Meridian School Board will have 3 vacant seats that will need to be filled in the April 2, 2019 election.  The attached notice gives instructions on how to be a Write-In Candidate (our district did not have any candidates to turn in petitions for the election).
