Any students that would like to join MS Scholar Bowl please sign up on the sheet in the
office. Ms. Craig will be bringing treats to every practice! Come have some fun and get your
trivia on! Last day to sign-up will be Friday, October 7 th .
Attention students: Water bottle containers must be plastic containers. No glass
containers are allowed!
If anyone is interested in the Junior Class Club sign-up sheets are in the front office.
During home games no one is to go past the grey fire doors during the games unless you
have permission to do so!
Today, October 6 th all seniors will attend a “SCC Experience 2022” at Shawnee Community
College. The bus will leave at 11am and return at approximately 1:45pm.
Yearbook sales contest will be held until, October 7th. The yearbooks are $15. The class
with the most sales percentage will have a pizza party! Each sale will get an individual
ticket for a $50 gift card. See Dr. Trover for forms and more information.
There will be no school Monday, October 10th in observance of Columbus Day.
On Tuesday, October 11 th there will be a High School Scholar Bowl meeting at 3pm in room
22!
PTSO is selling Meridian Pride shirts. Order forms are in the front office and must be turned
back into the front office. If you would like to see the shirts in color visit the school website.
Deadline for all orders will be Tuesday, October 11 th .
On Wednesday, October 12 th the Army will be here during the lunch block, Representative
Sargent McCray.
Friday, October 14 th is the end of first quarter. Students make sure you have all of your
assignments turned in. Let’s finish the quarter strong!
On Wednesday, October 19 th there will be a half-day for school improvement.
Attention students: The Treat Trolley will make its debut on October 19 th . This is a half-
day. Please make sure you have your Bobcat Bucks that day. Ms. Browning will come
around to the classrooms. You will only be allowed to purchase during the time she will be
going from classroom to classroom. Please do not come into the gym during their class
time and ask to purchase anything. If you do not have any bucks or you forget them at
home, there will always be next month.
On Thursday, October 20 th and Tuesday, October 25 th we will have Parent- Teacher
Conference from 4-7pm.
On Saturday, October 22 nd there will be a Firemen’s Fall Festival Parade in Mounds, if any
club or organization are interested in participating vendor applications are in the guidance
office. If you are going to participate in the parade the deadline to turn in the forms will be
Friday, October 14 th .
On Saturday, October 22 nd the Annual Pulaski Pecan Bonanza will be in Pulaski, IL from
8am to 4pm. The parade will start at 1:30pm.
October 24 th - 27 th we will celebrate red Ribbon Week, activities will be announced at a later
date.
Picture day is coming October 27th!
On Friday, October 28 th there will be no school due to Regional Teacher Institute Day.
Attention: Seniors –VFW Scholarship opportunity – Deadline October 31st. Please see
guidance if interested.
Seniors the PTSO (Parent Teacher Student Organization) Scholarship is available in the
guidance office. One of the main criteria to apply for this scholarship is that you have to
attend 4 PTSO meetings. The meetings will take place every 2 nd Wednesday of each month
at 6pm. Please see guidance if interested.
Activities:
21 st Century Enrichment in both buildings till 5pm.
HS Volleyball – VS East Prairie. Game starts at 5pm.
HS Cheer- Practice 3-4:30pm.
HS Boys Basketball Boot Camp from 3-4:30pm.
HS Cross Country- Meet at Goreville. Meet will start at 3pm.
MS Girls Basketball- Practice 5-7pm. In the elementary.
MS Boys Basketball- Practice 3-5pm. In the elementary.
