University of Illinois Extension is offering a free Container Gardening Class Tuesday, September 28 from 10AM until Noon. All parents and community members are invited. The classes will be held at 413 31st St. in Cairo, next to Cairo Elementary. To register, call 618-745-5200.

Meridian District 101 and the Illinois Department of Public Heath are hosting a free Pfizer Covid 19 Clinic on Tuesday, September 14th from 9 am to 6 pm and October 8th from 9 am to 6 pm. The MHS clinic will be in the first portable building on school site at 1401 Mounds Road. Signage outside the buildings will show the appropriate areas to enter. Parking will be available.
The partner members are providing parents, students-12 or older, and community members the opportunity to get a first, second shot or booster shots. Parents must come to sign Permission Slips for their students’ first shot vaccines. Second shot recipients will need to bring their shot card received at the first shot. Also, booster shots are available. Recipients will need to report they are immune compromised to receive their booster shot. The booster recipients will also need their Shot 1 and Shot 2 card.
Meridian School District will continue the 2 o'clock dismissal throughout September.
Reminder! Meridian School District will have an Early Dismissal tomorrow, September 3. All students will be dismissed at 11AM to allow for teacher training. There will be no school Monday in honor of Labor Day.
Also, we will continue the 2 PM dismissal throughout the month of September.

Beginning Monday, August 23rd, Meridian Schools will be using 2pm student dismissal time. This will remain in effect until Labor Day. We appreciate your assistance and have a good weekend.

Meridian CUSD #101 - The school district has been working on the 2021-22 reopening plan, which will be very similar to how we approached last school year. Over the past 3 weeks things have changed considerably. As you might be aware, today Governor Pritzker mandated masks be worn by all individuals in Public and Private Schools. Masks will be mandatory.
