Local fire departments participated this morning in a fire drill at Meridian Elementary School. Teachers and students exit the buildings as classes and line up so teachers can verify everyone is out. Teachers will hold up a green card if all are accounted for or a red one if someone is missing, so they can be found. Administrators will verify everyone is safe. Fire fighters inspected the building to be sure fire doors and other precautions were in place and working.
