Meridian Elementary students in Grades PreK through 5 will present a musical Christmas program Wednesday, December 15 at 9AM in the Elementary Gym. Parents and Grandparents are welcome to attend. Face masks are required and hand sanitizer will be available .

The Speech and Drama Club would like to invite everyone out on Wednesday, December 15th at 5 P.M. to enjoy the performance of A Christmas Carol: A School Remix. Tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for students/children, and kids under five are free. We will have limited concessions for sale and items available for a silent auction as well.

Meridian school district will host Lifetouch studios tomorrow morning for make up pictures or retake pictures. Southern 7 Health Dept. will also be at Meridian from 9 am to 6 pm with Covid 19 vaccines.

Tonight’s Varsity Boys Basketball game vs. Cobden is cancelled. Cobden had to cancel due to Covid-19 testing. A makeup date will be announced at a later date.

Lifetouch Studios will be in Meridian School District Tuesday morning, December 7, to take pictures of those students and staff who were unavailable to have their photos taken in October or to retake photos. If you have any questions, please call the schools.

Meridian School District will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. School will resume Monday, November 29. We wish you all a restful and happy holiday!

Meridian High School Teen Leaders did a great job teaching a lesson on measurement using 4-H Cooking 101 to Dr. Thomas's Fifth Grade Class.

MHS Vaccine Clinics Tuesday, November 16, Tuesday, December 7 and Thursday, December 16 and Thursday, January 7 from 9-6 Meridian High School and the Illinois Department of Public Health are hosting a free Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine clinic on November 16th, December 7th, December 16th, and January 7th in the portable buildings by the high school from 9 am to 6 pm. The MHS clinic will be on site at 1401 Mounds Road in front of the high school. Signage outside the buildings will show the appropriate areas to enter the lower parking lot into the gym. Parking will be available to visitors. The partner members are providing parents, children/students 5-11, students-12 or older, and community members the opportunity to get a first, second shot and booster shots. Parents must come to sign Permission Slips for their students’ first shot vaccines. Second shot recipients will need to bring their shot card received at the first shot. Also, booster shots are available. Recipients will need to report they are immune compromised to receive their booster shot. The booster recipients will also need their Shot 1 and Shot 2 card.

Meridian School District will have an Early Dismissal Wednesday, November 10. There will be no school Thursday, November 11 in honor of Veteran's Day. School will resume Friday, November 12.
